Check-out

Check-out Rules

To check out from the Meteor Student Dormitory, you must:

1) Settle all payments for the dormitory

All current payments can be checked in your USOS account under the “Payments” tab.
Before moving out, you must pay all required rent charges as well as any additional fees for individual days (if the move-out occurs, for example, during the first days of a new month for which the student does not pay full rent).

2) Prepare the room for inspection

You must inform the Reception or send an email to dsmeteor@amu.edu.pl about your planned move-out date and provide the exact date and time when the room should be inspected.
Room inspections are only possible Monday to Friday, between 8:00 and 14:00.
If you plan to leave on a weekend, you must complete the check-out and settle all room usage fees no later than Friday at 14:00, but the room will be inspected again on the next business day.

To ensure a successful room inspection, you must:

  • Place the quilt, pillow, and blanket folded on the bed
  • Dust shelves, bookcases, and tables
  • Vacuum/wash the drawer under the bed
  • Sweep/vacuum the room and then mop the floor — especially under the bed, behind the desk, and in corners (a vacuum cleaner and mop are available in the laundry rooms)
  • Remove all posters, stickers, and other personal decorations
  • Clean the door from the inside of the room
  • The last person checking out from the room must turn off, defrost, and clean the fridge
  • Clean the bathroom: thoroughly clean the shower cabin, toilet, and sink, removing limescale and other dirt. Mop the bathroom floor

If only one person is moving out from a double room, they must carefully clean their half of the room and ensure free space in kitchen cupboards, bathroom cabinets, and in the fridge — so the new resident can clearly identify which areas are available to them.
A person who remains alone in a double room is obligated to maintain cleanliness and ensure free space so the room is ready for a new roommate.

Dormitory staff will inspect and account for the provided equipment: pillow, quilt, and blanket, as well as the overall condition of the room.

The Dormitory staff checks and confirms that no damage has been made, no equipment is missing, and the room has been properly cleaned.

If any damage or insufficient cleaning is identified, the appropriate amount will be deducted from the deposit according to the Damage Price List.

3) Enter your bank account number in USOS for the deposit refund

The deposit is returned in full or in part to the bank account in PLN (Polish zloty) provided by the resident in USOS.

You must enter your bank account number in your USOS profile under:
“For Everyone” → “Bank Account and Tax Office”.
We recommend adding the account using the desktop (not mobile) version of USOS.

The final refund amount is confirmed by the dormitory administration after verifying all student payments and the condition of the cleaned room.

The deposit refund procedure begins on the day you check out from the dormitory.
The deposit is returned to the student via bank transfer within 30 working days from the check-out date.

Deposit refund documents are immediately forwarded to the AMU Financial Section, which processes the transfers.
If the deposit is not received within the specified period (30 working days), please contact Ms. Małgorzata Jesiak from the AMU Financial Section: malgorzata.jesiak@amu.edu.pl.
